What is Active Chat Pricing?
What is an Active Chat?

An Active Chat is counted when at least one message is sent or received between your team and a contact within the current billing month.
Once a chat becomes active:
- You can send unlimited messages to that contact for the rest of the month
- It will still count as only 1 active chat
- The Active Chat month resets on the 1st of every month
What counts as an Active Chat?
A contact is counted as an Active Chat if any of the following happens within the month:
- You send a message to the contact
- The contact messages you
- You send a one-way broadcast to the contact
(Even if the customer does not reply)
📌 Important:
A one-way broadcast still counts as an Active Chat, regardless of whether the customer responds.
What does NOT count as an Active Chat?
The following do not count as Active Chats:
- Contacts stored in your CRM with no message activity
- Imported or synced contacts that were not messaged
- Contacts that only received a broadcast in previous months
- Contacts with no interaction in the current month
How Active Chat pricing works
- Active Chats are a ChatDaddy service charge
- Charged once per contact per month
- Each contact is counted only once, no matter how many messages are exchanged
- Pricing is typically 10–15 credits per active chat per month
Active Chats vs Meta (WhatsApp) Charges
It’s important to distinguish between the two:
ChatDaddy Active Chat Charges
- Monthly, per contact
- Covers platform usage
- Includes one-way broadcasts
Meta (WhatsApp Business API) Charges
- Charged separately by Meta
- Based on message category and conversation windows
- Applies mainly to WABA messages

- ✅ Active chat = at least 1 message in the month
- ✅ Counted once per contact per month
- ✅ One-way broadcast does count
- ❌ Stored or inactive contacts do not count
