How to import contacts in ChatDaddy

Importing contacts into ChatDaddy helps you quickly build your audience for broadcasting. This guide explains the step-by-step process for importing contacts, as well as how to customize and enhance your import by adding tags, custom fields, and more for better contact management.

Importing Contacts into ChatDaddy

Follow these steps to import your contacts:

  1. Navigate to Contacts
      • From the ChatDaddy dashboard, go to the left-hand menu. Select Contact Management, then click Contacts.
  1. Click Import
      • Find and click the Import button located in the top right corner of the Contacts page.
  1. Download the Template
      • ChatDaddy provides a CSV template to help you format your contacts correctly. Download the template that suits your needs, whether it's for email broadcasting or non-email contacts.
      ✏️

      Understanding the Template Options:

Email Broadcast Template: Use this template for contacts who will receive email broadcasts.

Non-Email Template: Use this template for contacts who will be reached via other channels (e.g., WhatsApp, SMS).

  1. Prepare Your Contacts
      • Fill in the template with your contact details, ensuring each contact is on a separate line. Save the completed file in CSV (comma-separated values) format.
  1. Import Your List
      • Back in ChatDaddy, click Import again. Browse and select your prepared CSV file, then click Upload to begin importing your contacts.
  1. Preview and Customize What You Want to Upload
      • A popup will appear showing all the details of your uploaded CSV file. Here, you can customize each column’s significance, such as selecting which column corresponds to name, phone number, tags, custom fields, and any other relevant data.
      • Enhance the Upload: You can improve your contact import by adding tags to categorize your contacts and create custom fields for additional information like customer status, location, or subscription type. These customizations help you segment your audience and send more targeted broadcasts.
