Yes, you can still use group chats within the WhatsApp Business App when using WhatsApp Coexistence (Coex)

However, there is a major catch regarding how they work with your API or CRM platform:

  • App Only: Group chats remain active and fully functional only within the WhatsApp Business App on your phone.

  • No Sync: Group chats do not synchronize to the Cloud API or your connected CRM (like ChatDaddy)

  • 1:1 Synchronization: Only individual (1:1) chats are mirrored between the mobile app and your API dashboard.

  • No Automation: Because they don't sync, you cannot use chatbots or automated workflows within these groups via the API.
