Check your internet connection (switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data).

Update WhatsApp on both your and the sender’s device. Make sure you're both on the latest version of WhatsApp.

Ask the sender to open WhatsApp to resend pending messages or keys.

Restart your phone and reopen WhatsApp.

On Web/Desktop, open WhatsApp on your phone or re-link the device.

Ask the sender to open WhatsApp and resend the message if it was deleted or pending.
