The message "An approved template is required to start a new conversation" is a WhatsApp policy requirement (WABA), not a ChatDaddy bug.

Why It Happens

WABA channels only allow free-form messages within the 24-hour customer service window. Once that window expires, you must send an approved template message to reinitiate the conversation.

How to Continue the Conversation

  1. Send an approved WhatsApp template message to the customer.
  2. Once the customer replies, the 24-hour window reopens, allowing you to send regular messages freely again. If you do not yet have a suitable template, create one under the Templates section and submit it for Meta's approval.
