Rule
Meta WhatsApp Business API requires every Message Template to contain a TEXT component. Video-only, image-only, or document-only templates are NOT approved by Meta. Every media node MUST have a Caption / Body text.
Why
Meta wants templates to be human-readable and policy-reviewable as text content. Pure media templates would be impossible to moderate at Meta's scale.
Affected Operations
- Submit Template for Approval (rejected if no text)
- Flow Builder with Video / Image / Document nodes (must add Caption before submitting)
- Broadcast templates
Customer-Facing Fix
Open the node, add a Caption / Body text. Resubmit. Wait for Meta approval (usually minutes, max 24h).
