Meta's Business Verification confirms your business is legitimate. It unlocks higher WhatsApp messaging limits, the Official Business Account (OBA / green tick), and the ability to add more phone numbers to the API.
Every step below has a direct link — click it and (after you log in) Meta takes you straight to the right page, so you never have to hunt through menus.
⚠️ Before you start: you must have Full control of the business in Meta Business Manager. (Full control = the highest access level; if you only have partial access, ask whoever set up the business to grant it, or to do these steps.) Log in first at business.facebook.com.

Why You Need Business Verification

Step 1 — Fill in your Business Info
Meta won't let you start verification until every business field is complete. Incomplete info = no Start Verification button.
👉 Go straight there: Business Info
Fill in and Save:
- Legal Business Name — must match your official registration documents exactly
- Business Address — street, city, state/province, postal code, country
- Business Phone Number
- Business Email
- Website URL
💡 The Start Verification button only appears once every field above is saved. If you don't see it, come back here and check each field.
Step 2 — Open the Security Center and Start Verification
👉 Go straight there: Security Center
You'll see a Business Verification section with your current status. Click Start Verification.
If Start Verification is missing, either your Business Info is incomplete (back to Step 1) or your account doesn't currently require verification for its features.
Step 3 — Confirm Your Business Details
Meta asks you to confirm the business information. Make sure it all matches your legal documents exactly (spelling, punctuation, capitalisation):
- Organization name
- Address
- Phone number
- Website
Click Next.
Step 4 — Choose a Verification Method

| Domain verification | Meta checks you own the website domain you listed. Fastest — often approved in minutes if your domain email matches. |
| Document verification | You upload official business documents for Meta's review team. Takes 1–14 business days. |
Pick Domain verification if it's offered — it's much faster. Otherwise continue to Step 5.
Step 5 — Upload Supporting Documents
Prepare 2–3 documents from the list below. Every detail on them (legal name, address, phone) must match your Business Info exactly.

⚠️ Documents must be clear, legible and not expired. Blurry scans or mismatched details are the #1 reason for rejection.
Upload and click Next.
Step 6 — Confirm With a Verification Code
Meta sends a code to your business phone (SMS/call) or business email. Choose one, enter the code, and click Done.
Step 7 — Wait for Approval, then Check Your Status
- You'll get a confirmation email or Business Manager notification
- Approval takes 10 minutes to 14 business days
- Check your status anytime → 👉 Security Center or WhatsApp Accounts (the account shows Business verification: Verified once approved)
If Your Verification Is Rejected
Common reasons:
- Business name on documents doesn't match Business Manager (even minor differences)
- Documents blurry, cropped or expired
- Address on documents doesn't match
- Website is broken or doesn't reflect your business
Fix: open the Security Center, read Meta's rejection reason, correct your info or documents so they match exactly, and click Re-submit.
After Verification — Display Name Review
Once verified, Meta automatically starts a Display Name Review for your WhatsApp Business API numbers.

Why don't I see the "Start Verification" button?
Your Business Info is incomplete. Open Business Info and fill in every field — Legal Name, Address, Phone, Email, Website. The button only appears when all are saved.
What's the difference between Meta Business Manager and Meta Business Suite?
Business Manager manages user access, security and business assets (Pages, WhatsApp accounts, ad accounts). Business Suite manages day-to-day marketing, ads and messaging. For verification you want Business Manager — reach it via the Settings gear, or use the direct links above.
