ChatDaddy Credit Pricing & Expiry Policy

ChatDaddy credits are renewed annually with your subscription, but your credit balance itself is valid for 2 years. If you choose not to renew, your remaining credits are still accessible until they expire.

What Are ChatDaddy Credits?

ChatDaddy operates on a credit-based billing system. Credits are consumed as you use the platform — for features such as sending messages, connecting channels, adding team members, using AI features, and running integrations.

Credits are not messages. One credit does not equal one message. Credits are the underlying currency that powers your usage across all ChatDaddy features.

Credit Subscription vs. Credit Balance

Understanding the difference between these two is important:

Credit SubscriptionCredit Balance
What it isYour annual plan that allocates credits each cycleThe actual credits sitting in your account
Renewal cycleEvery 12 months (annual)Does not renew — accumulates over time
ExpiryRenews or lapses at each annual dateValid for 2 years from the date credited
What happens if unusedUnused credits carry forward (up to 2-year limit)Expire 2 years after they were added

Credit Expiry: 2-Year Policy

Your credit balance does not expire at renewal. Credits you have accumulated remain in your account for 2 years from the date they were credited to your account.

Example:

  • You receive credits in January 2024
  • Your annual subscription renews in January 2025 — your existing credits carry forward
  • If you do not renew in January 2025, your January 2024 credits are still valid until January 2026
  • Any credits older than 2 years from their credit date will expire

"I Still Have Remaining Credits — Do I Need to Renew?"

This is one of the most common questions. Here is the honest answer:

Your remaining credit balance will not be deleted if you do not renew. Credits are yours until they hit the 2-year mark.

However, not renewing affects your access to platform features, not your credit balance:

If you do not renewWhat happens
Credit balance✅ Remains available (until 2-year expiry)
Platform features⚠️ Access may be restricted or downgraded
Channels & team members⚠️ May be reduced to free-tier limits
Broadcasts & automations⚠️ May be paused until renewal
New credit allocation❌ No new credits added until you renew

Our recommendation: Renew annually to maintain full platform access and continue receiving your credit allocation. A lapsed subscription means your remaining credits cannot be fully utilised across all features.

How Credits Are Consumed

Credits are deducted when you use the following:

  • Channels — each WhatsApp/Instagram/Messenger channel connected
  • Team Members — each active user seat
  • Messages — outgoing messages beyond your plan's monthly inclusion
  • Active Chats — contacts you message within a billing month
  • AI Features — Smart Reply, AI Chatbot responses, auto-tagging, translation, transcription
  • Integrations — Shopify, WooCommerce, and other shop connections

Checking Your Credit Balance

To see your current credit balance and expiry date:

  1. Log in to your ChatDaddy dashboard
  2. Go to Settings → Billing
  3. Your current balance and next renewal date are displayed at the top of the page

Topping Up Credits

If you run low before your next renewal date, you can purchase a one-time credit top-up:

  2. Click Top Up on the right side
  3. Use the slider to select the credit amount you need
  4. Confirm and pay — credits are added to your account immediately

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my remaining credits after my subscription lapses? Your credit balance remains in your account for up to 2 years. However, certain features may be restricted on a lapsed account, limiting how you can use those credits. Renewing restores full access.

Do credits roll over from year to year? Yes. Unused credits carry forward automatically. They do not reset at renewal — they only expire 2 years from the date they were originally credited.

What happens to my credits if I cancel my account entirely? Credits are non-refundable. If you cancel, your remaining credits will expire. Please refer to our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.

Can I transfer credits to another account? No. Credits are tied to the account they were allocated to and cannot be transferred.

I topped up credits — when do those expire? All credits, including one-time top-ups, follow the same 2-year expiry from the date they were credited to your account.
